Katie Beckvold

(sher/her) is a Boston based performer and teacher. Most recently she has performed the role of Laura in the play Fireworks, with The Here Comes Everybody Players and The Mistress of Revels in the world premiere of the musical The Glassblower’s Daughter. When playing the Queen of the Night, it was said that “Bolts of lightning flew from Hall Auditorium…She did it with her voice with dead-on accuracy.” Other credits include Mademoiselle Silverspeal (The Impresario), Alcina (Alcina), Tzeitel (Fiddler on the Roof), Miss Flannery (Thoroughly Modern Millie), Lily (The Secret Garden), Mabel (Pirates of Penzance) and Phyllis (Iolanthe). “[A] gifted soprano…[who] also has a finely tuned talent for the tongue in cheek”, who played Phyllis with a “combination of spunk and charm”.

Katie Beckvold has also been known to music direct and choreograph, in addition to teaching voice lessons and the Alexander Technique. She has led local groups to include Higham High School Drama, Abington Middle School Drama, The Abington Town Choir and The Second Wind Acapella Ensemble.

As a certified Alexander Technique teacher and Member of Alexander Technique International, Katie has offered her students the ability to understand and connect with their voices and more importantly with themselves in a deeper way. She has offered Alexander Technique master classes to the Maine NATS community, MASS Opera, Longy School of Music, Boston Singers Resource, Lau Lapides Company, The Empowered Musician, University of Illinois, Tom Todoroff Acting Studio, Bay View Music Festival, College Light Opera and the Boston SAG-AFTRA Community.
