Gamalia Pharms

(She/Hers/Her) is a Boston actor/singer who is delighted to be a part of the audio description team for Make Way For Ducklings at Wheelock Family Theater @ BU! She has performed in regional theaters up and down the East Coast (including WFT), and has a BFA from the Boston Conservatory of Music. Gamalia has worked on audio description for the American Repertory Theater’s productions of The Black Clown, Barbershop Chronicles, Ayodele Casel: Chasing Magic, Macbeth In Stride, WILD: A Musical Becoming, Ocean Filibuster, 1776 and Twilight.  She was also on the AD teams for Bill Irwin’s On Beckett and China 2.0 at Arts Emerson, and the teams for Matilda and Wizard of Oz at Wheelock Family Theater! Some of her favorite theatrical roles include Motormouth Maybelle in Hairspray, Jewel in Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, Susannah in Tintypes, Armelia in Ain’t Misbehavin’ and Mrs. Potts in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. Gamalia has sung with the Joyful Voices of Inspiration gospel choir, and The Colleges of the Fenway Jazz Band. Her day job is with the Massachusetts College of Art and Design where she works in the Studio Foundation Department. Proud member of AEA since 1986.
