Gamalia Pharms

(She/Hers/Her) is a Boston actor/singer who is delighted to be a part of the audio description team for The Wizard of Oz at Wheelock Family Theater @ BU! She has performed in regional theaters up and down the East Coast (including WFT), and has a BFA from the Boston Conservatory of Music. Gamalia has worked as an audio describer for the American Repertory Theater’s productions of The Black Clown, Barbershop Chronicles, Ayodele Casel: Chasing Magic, Macbeth In Stride, WILD: A Musical Becoming, and Ocean Filibuster. Some of her favorite theatrical roles include Motormouth Maybelle in Hairspray, Jewel in Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, Susannah in Tintypes, Armelia in Ain’t Misbehavin’ and Mrs. Potts in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. Gamalia has sung with the Joyful Voices of Inspiration gospel choir, and The Colleges of the Fenway Jazz Band. Her day job is with the Massachusetts College of Art and Design where she works in the Studio Foundation Department. Proud member of AEA since 1986.
