Lesley Ryan Miller

Lesley Ryan Miller (CGS’94, Wheelock’96) is Chief of Staff at the Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts, where she helps lead strategy and organizational alignment for a council serving more than 19,000 girls as they develop the courage, confidence, and character to make the world a better place.

Lesley brings more than 25 years of leadership experience in public education. Prior to joining Girl Scouts, she served as Chief of Teaching & Learning for Boston Public Schools, where she led the district’s academic strategy and oversaw core academic content areas. During her tenure, she spearheaded the district’s largest investment in high-quality instructional materials in more than two decades, expanded access to arts education and school libraries, and led efforts that resulted in a 126% increase in the number of students earning the Massachusetts State Seal of Biliteracy.

Earlier in her career, Lesley served as Deputy Superintendent of Teaching & Learning for the Public Schools of Brookline and as Principal of the Pierce K–8 School in Brookline. She began her career in Boston Public Schools, where she spent nearly a decade teaching kindergarten and first grade before moving into district leadership.

Lesley also served as Chair of the Board of Trustees at The Park School, a coeducational independent school in Brookline. She holds a Bachelor of Science from Boston University and a Master of Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
