Abilities Dance Presents: Firebird
Firebird is a reimagined, unique rendition of Firebird that celebrates intersectionality, highlighting disability culture as well as the various cultures and identities of the members of the company. This inclusive ballet redefines antiquated views around dance, showcasing the talents of a diverse, passionate company of performers. A unique score was also composed by Director of Music Andrew Choe with the various identities of the dancers in mind, enhancing the performances and giving a distinctive feeling to the ballet.
Abilities Dance’s production will include original choreography by Director Ellice Patterson, meticulously crafted to accentuate the movements of all dancers of diverse identities within and outside of the disability community. Guest artists include Antoine Hunter and Zahna Simon from Urban Jazz Dance Company in CA.
