Kerry Thompson

Kerry Thompson is the Founding Executive Director of Silent Rhythms, Inc. which was founded in 2008 with the mission of providing access and inclusion to the arts while using the arts to promote inclusion in society for people with disabilities. Kerry herself is a Latin ballroom dancer who is DeafBlind. She was a founding member of Boston Rueda Dance and a performer with MetaMovements Dance Company. She was casted as the Angel Mama in Wheelock Theatre’s 2013 production of Pippi Longstocking. She has performed in Miami, Paris, Havana, New York City, and Boston. She has taught dance to more than 5,000 people with disabilities and countless more people without disabilities. She has taught at Boston Ballet, Children’s Museum, Museum of Fine Arts, Harvard University, Boston University and has taught at Salsa in the Park every summer since 2008. Her work has been featured in the Boston Herald, Boston Globe, Harvard Gazette, and ABC’s More in Common.

In addition to her dance background, she is also a German Marshall Fund Marshall Memorial Fellow and works as the Inclusion & Analytics Officer at Disability Rights Fund. She completed a Master’s degree in Human Development and Psychology from Harvard University with a focus on international law and human rights.
